I know this general topic has come up several times here, but I haven't found one specific for including kids. A few questions.

Any recommendations for a family of four with two kids with ages in early double digits? Is all inclusive the way to go so the kids can go get drinks and ice cream whenever they want and not have to deal with money or signing room bills? Not that the parents wouldn't be around them at all times, just the ability to walk over and grab something themselves. Open to places in Mexico or the Caribbean, assuming those make the most sense for travel reasons from Texas. Want a mix of beach and pool time with some excursions, nothing crazy needed.

Is all-inclusive even the way to go? It just seems easier.

I love all-inclusive for those ages. Many resorts have kids and teens clubs, waterparks, pizza shops, ice cream shops and more. I've probably first took mine when she was 6 or 7 (and would have earlier). Now she is 15 and he is 21.

Some great options for those ages are Dreams Playa Mujeres, Moon Palace the Grand (for activities, beach isn't good here), Planet Hollywood for something a little cheaper. There are lots of good options.

My email is in my profile, I would be happy to assist. I've worked with many Texagers before.

What is a general weekly price range for one of the kid friendly places? 3-5k?

Probably. Flights is what usually makes or breaks it.

We did Beaches in Turks and Caicos. It was great. Great beaches, pools, water slides and the resort also had excursions. Lots of really solid restaurants too. Probably looking closer to 8-10k though.

As a travel advisor that specializes in Mexico and Caribbean travel with my girls in early double digits we have a lot of first hand knowledge of the best resorts for families. Not all resorts are created equal. If you are looking for a travel advisor my contact info is in my bio.
I will leave you with a couple of pics I've taken at some of my favorite family resorts

Beaches resorts are designed for this; we are not AI people but we did their resorts in TCI and Negril when the kids were young and everyone enjoyed it.
