Where to go for a long weekend in early March

Looking for somewhere to go to engulf myself into nature in early March solo. Probably a Friday - Tuesday. Not opposed to flying. Definitely need hiking and if need be backpacking/camping. Leaving from Houston.

I live in Phoenix and there are numerous hiking, backpacking areas very near or even in town. Likely to have favorable weather.

Antigua, Guatemala. Plenty of hiking and excursions in the area. Inexpensive and beautiful.

I came here to suggest this same thing. Lived in Guatemala for 7 years. Antigua is beautiful and a (surprisingly) easy long weekend trip from Houston.

I would also look at Big Bend and Hawaii. I can't remember what the weather looks like in a March but western North Carolina would be a good choice as well.

I've been strongly considering this before i posted. I was looking at Sedona and Flagstaff area. I also have an old friend in Mesa that I haven't seen in years I may be able to grab lunch with which would be cool

I spend a good bit of time on the Tonto National Forest which borders Mesa on the north side. Lots of options there. Just to the east are the Superstition Mountains which also have a lot of great hiking trails.
