Howdy!

The wife and I are celebrating our 8 year anniversary beginning of February (looking to travel Feb 1-5 range) and will be our first trip without our daughter in about 2 years. We are thinking about going to a beach and just relaxing for a few days. I want to redeem some of our Chase Ultimate Rewards points so looking at Hyatt places and possibly using Southwest RR points. Any recommendations for a quick, romantic beach trip from DFW?

Are you trying to stay in the US or go somewhere like Cancun?

Could go either way. Was leaning towards using the passport but it is not required. Really just want it to be a relatively quick flight from Dallas (maybe under 5 hours).

Lots of great options.

With Hyatt points you can book Secrets Resorts.

Secrets Moxche - my current favorite. Beach is good but not amazing. But the pools are resort are awesome.
Secrets Maroma - amazing beach
Secrets Playa Blanca - brand new, also on a really nice beach.

I would stick with the usual 2-3 destinations in Mexico if you are going in early February and will be connecting through HOU (assumption being that you are flying SWA). Everything north of those will still be pretty chilly around that time.

Sepa que si vienes a Tulum, no hay bastante playa publica para todos los extranjeros y locales. Si no te quedas en la playa, tendras que pagar para accessarla.

Excellent time to travel to Mexico or Costa Rica. It's their dry season and the weather is as good as it gets down there.
