if you had a 6k travel voucher with a travel agency for you and one other person, and no other restrictions, what would you use it on?

I think Kauai is hard to beat for that price range. Don't habe to worry about the currency or language barrier.

I know a German airline is coming to San Antonio next May that flies nonstop to Frankfurt. I'm sure I will go to German and Switzerland next year.

Depends on where you travel to.

Well it is hypothetical for y'all, but not for me and I'm just thinking about ideas. 2 girls at the same time is not something this travel agency offers.

Depends - need more information
Is the other person a friend, friend with benefits, dating, married.

Friend go someplace you would remember for the rest of your life - something big - octoberfest, carnival in rio, Athens, Rome,

Friend with benefits - someplace you will remember but not someplace you want the relationship to progress further, Alaska, beaches in Thailand, Australia. Abu dabi.

Dating - romantic Italy, Paris,

Married - Branson, Reno,

Married with kids - concession stand at your kids baseball or soccer game and week stay in Tulsa at the big tournament during the summer

Damn that was depressing - I need to adjust my thinking ……….

Go somewhere neither of you have been but interests both of you that isn't too complicated to navigate ( no crazy connections for flights, 8 different train rides etc ) and you can relax, have fun, dance the night away and wake up late. Somewhere that has multiple food options would be a key as well. An all inclusive event would be great so something like a beach island, or cruise that goes to different countries, that has attractions and things to do on the resort like casino, zip line, natural sights nearby,

Edit - I forgot to say congratulations!

married 16 years and the LAST place I'd wanna go on a couples trip is freaking Branson

I'm big on spending lavishly on higher end amenities over blowing the budget on just getting there. I'd look for somewhere easy and cheaper to get to then go high end on everything else

-Greece in late May has been my favorite "romantic" trip so far. (We stayed pretty high end so may have been a bit over $6k. This could be easy to adjust based on Santorini.)
-Italy was great too. (Tuscany and Venice seemed the most romantic of the places we visited.)
-Paris can be romantic if not a bit overwhelming.
-My favorite tropical destinations so far have been Grand Cayman and the Big Island Hawaii. St. John looks great so we may check that out soon.

We are planning Spain this year and I think it can be done easily for $6k.

We had an amazing airbnb overlooking lake como in Italy and there isn't much I would trade about that. Switzerland was really amazing as well.

This travel agency is killing me on trying to get actual guidance on what we want, so I just went through the website myself

This is what we are looking at doing for our "free" trip.
https://search.artatravel.com/vacations/details/?clientid=194&offer_id=1493769

but when I sent an email to my agent, He responded with this..

Quote:

I have attached the actual itinerary from Costsaver for your review.

Costsaver includes accommodations, transportation between cities and some meals. The rest would be what they call Choice Experiences, you will need to pay extra.

See quote below for December trip. Pricing doesn't include your Air from/to Houston. You would need to fly from USA on the December 13th to arrive in Indonesia on the 15th.

twin.. beds?

Are you asking if you can get twin beds? Or referencing something?

Honestly, it usually will depend on the hotel. Even when I book more luxury trips for my clients, a lot of times they'll say twin beds requested or double bed requested. It's never guarantee. Although a lot of the hotels in some places are just two twin beds push together (very common in Europe). Not sure about the trip you posted.

Sadly on these trips I'm not sure you will get a full choice. Really up to the hotel but they should be able to "request" what you want.

yeah it seems like working with a travel agency like this one has a lot of strings attached

It's not the agency (although not saying they aren't giving you trouble). In this case, it's Costsavers and the hotels. I have clients on a Globus trip, it's the same. They can request but no guarantees.
