Anyone ever been to Atlantis in Nassau? Is it worth the cost? Looking to take the family this summer. I have a 13 and 8 yo. Any tips or tricks? Cheaper to book directly or through a travel advisor?

TIA

The 13yo will need to be sacrificed. My wife has asked to go numerous times then we look at cost there vs an AI in Mexico and always go to Mexico.

Those ages seem perfect for Atlantis. They would absolutely love it.

Are you perhaps a Costco member?
Several years ago, I put together a package for my birthday to go there. My brother-in-law does a lot of work there and tried to get me a "deal".
I went to Costco Travel and their package was way less expensive than rack rate or what he was able to get me. Additionally, if the budget is tight, you can stay right next door at I believe it is a Comfort Suites and purchase day passes to Atlantis.
Atlantis on a Budget
If the budget is loose, there are some really great high end packages as well.
IF you go, splurge for dinner at GrayCliff Inn and take the wine cellar tour. And eat with the locals in the Fish Fry area. Food at Atlantis is overpriced and under good, by and large.

Your kids are the perfect age. They'll love the water park activities and it will keep them busy for hours. You can also do one of the marine life activities with dolphins, sea lions, or manta rays on property too. There is an off property way to do some of that on Rose Island.

As far as eating, If you go, you have to eat at the Fish Fry area as suggested as well as Graycliffe. There are also a couple of nice (although very expensive) places to eat at Baha Mar too. They also have a cigar bar lounge and a small speakeasy style whiskey place. Another, off Atlantis place to eat is Dune at the One and Only Ocean Club. Food is good and the view is outstanding. When you drive up, you'll recognize the Ocean Club from the first part of the Bond Casino Royale movie. There is a shuttle from Atlantis to the Ocean Club that you can take.

They will absolutely love it. quick tip. the spot i marked is near The Cove. Most of the beach by The Cove is for people staying there, however this particular spot is open to everyone. If you swim 100 yds off the shore you can literally swim tons of sea turtles. they hang out in the area to feed on kelp. truly spectacular.

Agree, the Ocean Club (Four Seasons) is a great escape for a nice evening of drinks and dinner; can take a shuttle from Atlantis.

I haven't been since 2005 but we loved it. Waiting for kids to get older before we go back.

FWIW, plebs are not allowed to go to the Reef or Cove so you get a quiet(er) beach/pool as well as the best villas at Atlantis (Reef is family and Cove is adult?).

Don't know if you're a gambler but went several years back for my honeymoon and get offers now for free rooms, wife and I go back almost every year and love it. Book the royal east or Cove, Coral tower has been renovated but it's kinda miss as is the Royal West. If you have a Caesars Rewards card you may want to check with them to see about free or discounted nights as well. Be prepared, everything is expensive and there's automatic grat and VAT tax on top of everything but as long as you know what you're getting into you'll have fun! I also follow an Atlantis group of facebook for extra tips

Got married there. It was cheaper than a big US wedding and all our guests had a blast. Get hammered and enjoy lazy river.
