I've done a retreat at Mountain Cloud Zen Center in Santa Fe in 2019. Great experience.

Would you be interested in a hiking/meditation/health type retreat? If so, I can give a rec for that! It's rated top in the world - all inclusive - $6100 per week or $12000 for 2 weeks.

Here you go!

I personally have not been (unfortunately) but I've had 2 friends go and they say it's absolutely life altering and incredible. Another friend is actually there right now so I'm waiting to hear back from him upon his return.

I wish there was a silent weekend retreat that's affordable. Anyone know of one or recommend one?

Been reading more about something like this but with the added experience of psychedelic's. Wonder if anyone is willing to share their experience / recommendations, or that of one of their anonymous friends.

Not interested in anyone's judgment on the drugs themselves, just the growing popularity of these experiences in places where legal.

Yes. Drive to New Mexico or Colorado. Hike into National Forest or Wilderness. Set up camp at alpine lake or ridge with a view off of a trail. See very little to no one as long as you would like. Nature itself is an amazing meditation opportunity.

Another good Catholic option is the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA. It is not too far from the Atlanta airport. I have done one of their Centering Prayer silent retreats there, and it was great. The Monastery is situated on several hundred acres, and it is beautiful. It abuts the Arabia Mountain Heritage Area, which can be explored during breaks. Dom Basil Pennington, who was the Abbot there, was one of the U.S. pioneers of Centering Prayer. It looks as if, right now, they are still only doing online retreats, but hopefully that changes soon.

Lebh Shomea House of Prayer

It's been there a long time, down in Sarita Texas, the Oblates run it, years ago they did 40 day silent retreats, in addition to weekend retreats. They had spiritual directors that guide you thru the silent retreat. Even had canonical recognized hermit living on the property.

Never mind, just looked it up. Apparently it's closed- what a shame.
