Looking for something that's not your typical large casino touristy hotel. I've stayed in all the normal ones like MGM, Delano, Mandalay Bay, Caesar's etc. What's your best recommendation?

Waldorf Astoria has no casino but is right next to the Aria. Quiet and good location.

The Trump Hotel is actually a really nice one. Despite the name.

I like Delano. Here now actually. Have wanted to try out Trump or even the Four Seasons section at Mandalay. Encore might be cool too.

If you want a trip to Asia without actually traveling to Asia, Resorts World is pretty good.

Been quite a few years since I stayed at Trump but it's definitely 5 star and nice. I actually liked the fact it didn't have a casino.

The Palms just reopened and is nice off the strip.

Waldorf & Trump as mentioned above too.

Apparently, no one here likes balcony views of the Bellagio fountains and an awesome location on the strip? Also, if you don't like great restaurants, and nice bars...do Not stay at the Cosmo!

Got worn out on Shania Twain and those damn fountains going off every 15 minutes.

During the peak of the plandemic, their little cocktail lounge downstairs was great for watching ladies of the evening and defending in sector. I used to make $30,000/month before the virus but now, would you buy me a drink and we can negotiate a price.

Depends what you are looking for. Younger crowds, Cosmo, Aria, etc. IMO the Wynn Tower Suites are hands down the best. Maybe for us older people, but you have a separate lobby, luxurious, not as wild.

Headed to the Venetian on Monday. But I picked it because it seems to be more family friendly and we are taking our 7 yr old and my parents with us.

Cant really beat Cosmo or Aria right now ...
If you get off the strip Red Rocks is always a good change of scenery and pace..
Nothing like playing craps at one of the older places downtown ..

The rooms are huge and very nice at the Palazzo. M resort is very nice too, a little bit out of town, which not a bad thing. It's the home of the Raiders.

I've stayed at them all and Palazzo still has my favorite rooms in Vegas.

Unless you have extremely high end rooms, who really cares. I am probably in my room awake and "sober" a good 30 minutes a day…

Just stayed at Wynn and it was really nice. Bit quieter and lower key than most. Being that it is theme-less and not center strip, it doesn't have as much random non-guest foot traffic that other resorts get.

Seems more popular for the olds, but there is also ridiculous eye candy walking around.

I really like The Cromwell but you need to ask for a room away from the club - you will hear base all night long.

I'm loyal to Marriott. My go to in Vegas is the Marriott Grand Chateau. It's across the street from the Planet Hollywood mall. No casino. Mini kitchen in the rooms.

Also, the Marriott next to the convention center is good as long as a major trade show isn't going on. No casino there, but you're a long walk to the strip.

When it comes roulette....Cosmo ain't got nothin' to do with my selection. 36-24-36? Ha ha, only if I've got 5-3.

If you're there on the weekend, the Marriott properties are probably a reasonable option.
Sunday night through Thursday, Marriott can't compete with Casino prices.

I recently had two of my direct reports travel to Vegas to do some computer systems work.
One guy stayed on the strip for $79/night
The other guy stayed at the Marriott Grand Chateau for $250/night.

I asked the guy who stayed at the Marriott if it was his first time to Vegas because he paid 3x per night more than what he should have.

Where you stay on the strip isn't so much about the quality of the rooms as it is the quality of the clientele.
If you just want a cheap room - go to Excalibur or the Flamingo and you're set.

Could be. I only go to Vegas for business. If we're holding a meeting I stay at our hotel. If it's a big convention, the Grand Chateau seems comparible to other hotels without the casino. The conventions have a bus pick up at Planet Hollywood, which is across the street. Like everything else, it's probably based on load management during the time you want to stay.
