Howdy everyone, me and the fianc plan on having a "destination" beach wedding. We have been looking around at places like the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.( trying to avoid the passport hassle for guests) But we've been coming up relatively empty.

The fianc is actually the one that recommended asking TexAgs for recommendations. Lol. I assume a lot of y'all have either had or been to some beach weddings so was hoping to get put in the right direction.

There is only one Texags answer…… Port Aransas.

Really depends on how you determine destination, budget and cost. Florida has great beaches down 30a, but may not feel destinationy enough, Hawaii would be cool, but bigger hassle to travel time wise. What's most important?

Would recommend contacting Lauren at Breeze Custom Travel. She's experienced in destination weddings and does an incredible job.

I book lots of destination weddings and also work with destinationweddings, com.

Most of your better options will be ones that require passports. The top 3 countries we book are Mexico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic. Followed next by Costa Rica. Most of the ones I have on the books right now are Mexico and DR.

What is great about these is it is all-inclusive so guests don't pay anything once you arrive. Depending on what resort and how many guests book, you can get perks back ($$, free cocktail hours, etc).

If you are looking for US-based, prices will be higher. I have a list I can provide that I've quoted in USVI but weddings there are a la carte so we usually only do the hotels.

Thanks for the info. I may shoot you a DM later on. And as for Hawaii, that was the original plan, but that flight time is pretty inconvenient/intimidating for most. We want to have a destination, but want to also make it as hassle free as possible for our guests. I know, walking a right rope lol

At the end of the day, do what you want. Destination weddings will never be hassle free for guests.

Look at the JW Marriot in Marco Island Florida. Plenty of space and the have an adults only side.

Anna Maria Island.

South of Tampa, north of Sarasota. It's a barrier island that is approximately 6 miles in length and not even a mile wide.

Being on the Gulf side, the sun sets to the west and magically disappears into the ocean. I have been going to AMI for 15 years and weddings at sunset are as common as sand in one's toes. And speaking of sand, it's the best fine white powdery sand I've ever experienced.

By the way, Anna Maria Island is a couple hours north of Marco Island. I like Marco Island a lot, but there are high rises everywhere along the beach. Not so at AMI. Houses are limited to three stories so the homes/hotels are more bungalow in nature.

And yes....I'm VERY biased!

Good luck with whatever you choose.

I expected the TexAgs answer to be:

On a beach, duh.

Texags answer would be some small island in the Maldives that takes 3 days of flying and $25k in airfare to get to and rents rooms for $10k/night.

I got married at Villa Montana Beach Resort in Puerto Rico about a year ago and it was absolutely fantastic. I would recommend checking it out.

We got married at the Hyatt in Clearwater. Hadn't been back there in probably 10 years but I imagine it's still a good option.

We loved it and will definitely go back. Lots to do for adults and kids. Here are some pics from our trip last summer. You can rent waverunners and go play with the dolphins in the mangroves.
