Flying out Thursday morning on United and I was hoping to get some recent intel on traffic and security lines at IAH. I mostly fly out of Hobby and typically show up 60 minutes before boarding, I am assuming with all the construction and spring break I should probably pad that some?

I have pre-check and will not be checking any bags.

What is your parking plan? Or will you Uber? Parking at the terminal was a hot mess the last time we did it (it's been months). I would Uber or park offsite. Maybe get there 90 minutes before your flight.

Parking at the Parking Spot on JFK, I looked this morning and saw the garages are 90+% full.

Get to the parking spot 2 hours before your flight, and you'll be at IAH 1.5 hours before your flight which is perfect. Check in and get your boarding pass beforehand to save time.

If you are still worried about time then show up at the parking spot 2.5 hours before your flight.

Flew out last week. Parking garage was packed until the top level. Took me an hour to get out of the garage at 6:30 PM.

Will definitely use an off site parking service next time.

Security line on Wednesday morning at 10:30 was nothing in Terminal C.

I'm usually through TSA pre check or clear within 5 minutes. Fly twice a month. I hate parking off site mainly because of the pickup process after, but my truck is too tall for the garages unless I valet and that's pretty pricey.

Thanks! I agree on how awful the pick up is, I flew United 6-ish months ago and it was easily a 30 minute wait for the shuttle.

if you have set flight times you can reserve a spot in the garages at IAH on the fly2houston.com website. And it saves you about 30%. Terminal C/D/E is a mess, Terminal C garages are open but Terminal E is not, so it is a cluster. If you are flying United, go reserve a spot in terminal B then go through pre check etc at Terminal B and walk or train to C/E if you are flying out of those. Shouldn't take you more than 15min to get through on pre check. I fly almost every week and I just make Terminal B my default for getting in and out.

I haven't read the responses but this is spring break. People missed their flights out of Austin arriving 90 minutes before hand. I wouldn't show up any later than 2 hours before the fight, and really I would recommend 2.5-3 this week.

Was more torn up last week when I flew back in. Terminal C parking garage took me about 30 minutes to get out of. Security lines have been quite minimal this year, but TSA pre-check helps with that. Never more than 5-10 minutes at any terminal even Terminal C last week on a Monday.

Flew to El Paso this afternoon/evening. The A/B garage was full and so were many of the off site lots. Eco Park was all that is available.

My advice is to get a reservation. It will ease up later in the week as spring breakers come back, but I suspect it will still be an issue.

And give yourself plenty of time.

C/E lot is full as of last night and B is open. I would suggest you uber regardless until the train wreck of the renovations get finished up

Good move. Still give yourself plenty of time for the bus ride to the terminal and check in and all that kind of stuff.
