We are looking at this in October. Cinnamon Shores is booked up for what we need. How does Palmilla compare? I see they are building a fancy pool, but it won't be ready until next summer. Do they have a community pool? If so, any good? Looks like there is a restaurant onsite. Kid friendly? It has a golf cart, but how golf cart friendly are they? Any other places we should look at? Thanks

We bought a house in Palmilla last year and absolutely love it.

There is a pool by Guest Services with a bar/food service (the burgers are outstanding). They also deliver this food to the beach. They have beach set up and a comfort station. Over by the golf course which is open to the public there is another bar Reds and my favorite restaurant The Black Marlin. Chef Gail is the best, but they do not take reservations so you need to get there early. (hours will probably be different during the fall so check when you get there but I do know there are some days you can get Black Marlin food on the patio only and it's really kid friendly then).

There is also a new fitness center which is really nice and they do have events and special things for kids during certain times. I especially like the fact that Palmilla is very close to town - just a 5 min. golf cart ride on the beach- hop on 11th and you can get most anywhere quickly.

They have broken ground on the second pool you mentioned which should be finished by next spring - it will have a splash pad area and a swim up bar.

I hope your trip works out for you - The fall in Port A is my favorite.

I would buy a house in Palmilla over CS any day. Just my opinion though FWIW

What agent did you use? We'd like to get one there as well. Do you use a golf cart to get around from Palmilla? I know you need to go to the beach and can't just take it on the road from there.

We didn't use a local realtor.

Palmilla is having some kind of an open house/ special for Labor Day. I would jump on a new build as resells are few and far between and pretty high dollar right now.

We love our golf cart & take it everywhere. It's about a 5 minute ride over the dune crossover on the beach to access road 1A then you hop on 11th street - you can access almost anything from that point into town.

I grew up in FL and for the first 18 yrs living in TX I really didn't want to go to the TX coast but I have to say this last year has been awesome! I love Palmilla & Port Aransas!!

We've driven through both and Palmilla looks to be more spread out (in a good way) compared to CS. CS is extremely cramped feeling although nice.

It seems like they tried to cram 1,000 units into a space that holds 500 in CS.

Other than being more spread out, what makes it better/nicer than CS? I've only been to CS and am genuinely just curious. And I don't disagree about CS - they really pack the homes relatively close together and the density is one of the only things I don't like about the place.

That's basically it CS is just crammed in there and just doesn't feel right to me. Palmilla being spaced better , being on the golf course and having the restaurant there is a big plus and it just seems more of a relaxing place to be.
