My girlfriend and I looking for a great resort in MX. Not swingers or anything but would love a resort without children as we are without and would love a great place to chill and have a good time. Planning on going in April this year. I don't mind if its gulf or pacific. I don't have much experience in MX other than a couple of cheapo resorts as a student.

TIA....

Le Blanc, Unico (beach isn't amazing), Secrets Maroma, Excellence Playa Mujeres are my top adults-only sellers.

First photo is Le Blanc, second Secrets Maroma.

Are you a travel agent? Are you able to help me if I live in UT?

Secrets Maroma is tough to beat. How is the sargassum in Mexico this year?

I've only see one post with seaweed and it wasn't sargassum. It was at Now Sapphire. So, so far, so good!

Another vote for Secrets Maroma, softest sand I've ever been on, like powdered sugar.

Do you know anyone who has gotten stuck internationally with a positive test?

I have not. I have a quite a few couples/groups traveling over the next few months.

I've read some posts about people being quarantined. Usually most things are pretty good except being bored and not being able to leave the room. The move you to a different location on resort. You can go on balcony/porch but that's it. 3 meals a day. No alcohol.

I would make sure to have health insurance and book with one of the resorts that offer free quarantine. (Palace Resorts, Secrets/Dreams, and Hard Rocks do for sure). There are others - I just book a lot do these particular properties.

Mac - I'm looking at booking a trip to Dreams Tulum very soon. Can you shoot me your information? I was looking at booking through Costco, but would love to see what you have.

Just sent you an email.

You need to give Atelier Playa Mujeres a look. It's a new beautful resort that has everything you want for a relaxing and fun vacation.

I've only been to one, but we will be returning. Le Blanc in Cabo. It was fantastic.

I don't even need to respond because you all have covered everything I would mention too

Secrets Maroma and Secrets Akumal are my most popular in Cancun/Riviera Maya.
UNICO, Excellence Playa Mujeres, Le Blanc, El Dorado Casitas Royale, El Dorado Palafitos, and Hyatt Zilara are some other popular choices.

I'm really liking some of the non all-inclusive options in RM too - Viceroy Riviera Maya is beautiful and is adults only.

For Los Cabos - Le Blanc is amazing and a top choice. Secrets Puerto Los Cabos, Pueblo Bonito, and Marquis are other favorites.

I like Le Blanc in Los Cabos better than Le Blanc in Cancun but it's only because I think there are more options in Cancun/RM that are just as good. In Cabo, not as many adults only options.

It is supposed to be very similar but much better snorkeling. I can't wait to go. I'm hoping this year.

Honestly they are pretty similar. You cannot lounge on the beach in Cabo, just walk on it. Cancun is located in hotel zone so you can walk off the resort. Cant get in ocean in Cabo. But other than that, I think they are pretty similar. I cannot wait to go back to Cabo.

FYI, a month ago Le blanc had chairs and patio type couches etc on the beach. We didn't spend much time out there, but you could.

And I put my feet in the water while I was down there. (shame on me)

Le Blanc Cabo did? Or Cancun? They didn't have any in Cabo while I was there. I will love it if Cabo does as I could care less about getting in the beach water!

cabo had beach chairs out on the sand. not sure about the responsiveness of the service because we went down there towards the end of the day as the sun was going down and it seemed like they were packing things up a bit, we only hung out for maybe an hour.

the downside is that the vendors walking by can "get" to you. but we just told them "no thank you" and they didn't hassle us any more after that.

one nice touch is that they had a little set up of cubbies for you to put your shoes in when you went down the stairs to the beach.

later that same night someone had paid extra (i assume) for a full dinner table and chairs set up for a candlelit dinner on the beach.

Edit to add a picture I found that I took while we were hanging out by the infinity pool. I took it because I was surprised to see what looked like a RCCL ship going by on the horizon. Maybe just keeping the engines running?
