Have a wedding down on the coast to attend later this summer. Thinking of making the trip into a week long vacation. Have a place to stay in the Key Allegro neighborhood in Rockport. House has a pool. Is there enough to do nearby to warrant staying 7 nights? One day will be taken up with wedding activities, will probably do a fishing charter one day, plan to rent a boat to tool around in for several days. What else should we plan on doing? Any good restaurants/waterfront bars, etc. that you recommend? Does Key Allegro/Rockport get crowded? Or is it more laid back? Thanks for any tips.

Former co-worker had (might still have) a place there. It's extremely laid back. Everyone loves the boiling pot in Fulton, it's alright in my book. I don't know if The Chartroom is still open, Google isn't pulling it up.

Glow is really really good, you'll most likely need a reservation.

We used to have a house in holiday beach.

Sold it before the hurricane and haven't been back since.

I really wish we still had the place. It is definitely laid back. Just take the boat out to little bay, anchor, and chill.

Key Allegro is strictly a neighborhood so it's pretty laid back. Can get some good walks in the neighborhood. The houses that have gone up after the hurricane are pretty incredible.

Our rotation of restaurants:

• Latitude
• Yacht Club (in Key Allegro but you have to be member I think)
• The Groove - found this place last time we where there. Fun little place that had some live music.
• Bellinos for Italian
• Glow
• Jalisco's for breakfast tacos

Ate at really good Mexican restaurant last time but can't remember name. Will find it.

edit: there was another decent place in Key Allegro itself but I think it's closed now or it was last time I was down there. Was known as Charter House(?) and then Grog. At the marina and had good patio.

Also, if you like wine the local liquor store has a shockingly good selection. It's on the corner on other side of Beall's.

Bellino's is a cool place.

Must hit places to eat:

Mickey's - It's in Aransas Pass And has great fried fish and shrimp as well as burgers. Seating is outside only but its right on the water and is shaded. Never been too hot there.

Steerburger - Fantastic and cheap burgers. Probably to-go only still.

Looks like we'll have lots of good food options while there. Thanks again for all of the recommendations.
