Wife and I really enjoyed JW Marriott Hill Country in San Antonio a few years back. Good food, comfortable room and great spa with an adult only pool. May be a little crazy in the summer with families because of the waterpark, we were there in late fall. Also check out Travaasa outside of Austin or if you'd prefer a B&B in the county, Paniolo Ranch or CW Hill Country outside of Boerne. Both B&B have nice grounds to hang out and enjoy the quiet or you can get in Fredericksburg or Boerne quite easily.

We really enjoyed the Blair House Inn in Wimberley.

We got one of the cabins for a long weekend. Its close to a few wineries int he area, the inns/shops in Wimberley, and Gruene for an evening show and dinner at the Grist Mill.

Travassa in Austin

Aspen is about a 2.5 hour flight. The beer flows like wine and the women flock like the salmon of capistrano.

Agree with 62strat. Nothing says romance like a hot and muggy Texas summer night.
