I am headed to Salt Lake City next week for a marathon. We are getting in Friday mid day, race is Sat morning and we are leaving Sunday morning to drive back to Denver. We are staying downtown near Washington Square. We have a 1 year old that will be with us so we don't plan on going out a night or partying with the notorious SLC night scene.

Are there any must see sights in SLC that we could hit Friday or Sat afternoon? Also I was wondering about Provo too. We can stop in there on the way in or way out. I like to see the various college football stadiums so I was thinking of stopping by BYU and Utah campus if nothing else.

We just returned from St George, Mt Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, Provo and Vegas. Provo is shockingly beautiful and you must eat at the Communal. We did BYU and drove to Sundance. We were in Utah 16 days and saw one black person so you should have a great shot at winning your marathon! Ha!

skip Provo and head East to Park City. Much prettier and much better food, shops, things to do, etc.

You can swing by Univ of Utah on your way out to Park City, as well, if you are so inclined.
