Just. Say. No.
I have spent many bored hours sitting outside of antique shops in Round Top, so I may be biased. However, Royer's Round Top Cafe has always been consistently good. It's usually pretty busy, so check in about an hour before you want to be seated.

I saw the biggest spider that I had ever seen in my life about 30 years in Round Top at a Rodeo
Royers is supposed to be great. I haven't been.
JW's in Carmine is excellent. I have been several times and I really like it.

Is Round Top like a day trip Fredricksburg for Houston folk?

We went to a Mexican place that was pretty solid, & cheap. Can't remember the name but there aren't many Mexican restaurants.
