Going to be in Belgium for a few days this week, any recs? Probably going to do a quick tour of Bruges then go off to Ghent for a couple of nights before heading back to Amsterdam.

bruges is great. brussels is boring, aside from cantillon and the grand place

the beer there is great, as is the chocolate.

find some moules et frites, also

actually, i'd like to go back. i was a 21 when i went the first time. i didn't know anything about Belgium and didn't like good beer yet. so, i was like what the eff are we doing here.

We're spending a night in Bruges and a night in Ghent before heading to Amsterdam and the Keukenhof on Friday.

Bruges is cool; eat fries and waffles, go to the restaurant that was a Michelin star joint and now run by ex cons and drink at the bar in the church basement.

If you need to do laundry we found a laundromat next to a hostel with a cool bar. I can find it on a map if you want.

This. I'm seriously planning on taking my dad here. Google says Bastogne is only 2 hours or so from Brussels, so you might could swing it.

We spent 3 days in Bruges last summer. I loved it. Of our 2 weeks in Europe, it's the part I find myself thinking of the most.

Also, can't recommend the Keukenhof gardens outside of Amsterdam enough for tulip season, absolutely incredible.
