Heading to Vegas from Thursday to Saturday. Excited for some nice hot weather and partying. Going to Hakkasan on Thursday night for Calvin Harris and miiiight be going to another show on Friday night at Mandalay Bay. Not sure yet. (inb4 someone gripes about millenials doing millenial things )

Any recs for stuff to do outside of your run-of-the-mill, typical Vegas activities? Like shows and/or stuff off the strip?

- Flying Spirit there (Hope I don't die). Thankfully, I'm flying Southwest back.
- Friends and I are considering going to Old Vegas, how is it there? Looks cool.
- Staying at the Mirage, anything cool to do there? Quality hotel? I've never set foot in there. Stayed in Treasure Island last time and thought TI sucked.
- No pool parties until March, unfortunately.
- Any good places to gamble if you're a 20-something lolpoor like me?
- Anyone else heading there this weekend?

Not heading this weekend, but I'll be going Easter weekend. The Mirage is nice ... not Bellagio or Wynn nice but good. The bathrooms in the rooms are a little small but the beds are comfy. One of my favorite hangouts there is the Rhumbar. Pretty nice patio to hang on if the weather is good. Also the sports book there is one of the best - huge 4k screens. Also if you want to splurge on a steak dinner, Heritage Steakhouse is really good.

Downtown (old Vegas) is a good time. It's probably a $25 cab ride from the Mirage so take that into account... although you can catch the bus if you don't mind riding public transportation. Everything down there is a little less expensive than the Strip - usually lower limits on the tables, drinks aren't quite as much, etc. The D is a pretty cool party atmosphere in the casino... music is loud, the Long Bar is cool and basically the entire floor is a party pit at night with go go dancers.

I'll be there in 3 weeks. Check out Drai's in the Cromwell if you want to go out another night, it's supposed to be one of the new places to be.

If Absinthe is still playing at Caesars, I highly recommend that. Half comedy, half acrobatic routine. it's definitely not PG rated though, so it may not be your cup of tea.

As for gambling, I found $10 tables at most places throughout the weekend. Even at night, except places named Bellagio, Wynn, Encore and Aria.

Watch out for the 6:5 blackjack though (it's everywhere now). I was there last week and the one place that I could consistently find $10 3:2 BJ was at the Bellagio (weekend nights included). It was in the pit closest to the shops area toward Caesars.

I thought 6:5 BJ was mostly just for tables with 1 or 2 decks. If you're right, I'm gonna be pretty pissed off. BJ has always been 3:2 and the casino already has enough of an edge.

stayed at the Mirage prob 50 times and the best little hidden secret is their spa. I believe for $20 you have access to steam room, sauna and whirlpool. Great place to sweat off the booze.

It's gotten more pervasive over the last few years, to the point where you really have to pay attention and read the felt to make sure you're not sitting down at a 6:5 table. This includes 6/8 deck shoe games and CSM tables. In most places, you'll find that the low-limit tables have generally all gone 6:5, while the $25 and up pits are still 3:2 (Bellagio being one of the noted exceptions as I mentioned above). Venetian/Palazzo went to the dark side last spring:

Hit up the buffet at Cesar's Palace for brunch/lunch.

It's $50 a head but it's some good stuff. Includes mimosas and bloodys. Food coma for sure.

We're not getting in until Saturday. Leaving Tuesday. Free airfare and hotel so more drinking and gambling money!

So we'll miss each other. But I only paid $90 for flights and hotel is free. More money to throw on the blackjack tables (3:2 only, none of this 6:5 garbage) and spend on booze!

One way, but I did go during peak time. Going in 3 weeks and tickets were around 350 when I looked. The times were awful, so I decided to spend a bit more for convenience.
