I remember when I was in school around 2000 hearing about an Aggie that started a bike tour company in Paris and I think it was called Mike's Bike Tours but I'm only seeing them in Munich & Amsterdam.

I'm trying to look them up because I'm going there with my wife in a couple weeks. I did find that Fat Tire Bike Tours in Paris was created by a 'Young American'.

Anybody know about this?

Fat Tire Bike Tours and Mikes Bikes are the same company. Just changed the name a few years back

Loved my fat tire bike tour in Paris. I highly recommend the evening booze cruise with a nice bottle of wine for your ride.

That's awesome. I did the Paris bike tour last year and didn't even know it was Aggie owned. Had a great time.

Did the Fat Tire day tour in Paris today and enjoyed it so much we booked the night tour two days from now. Also met the owner..good Ag. Also had a group of Aggies Class of 2015 do the tour at the same time. All in all a great day in Paris!

Mikes Bike Tours in Munich has nothing to do with any Aggie, neither does Fat Tire in Berlin.

I talked to Mike when I was in Munich last year with another Ag and he doesnt know how that rumor got started, but hes some sort of northerner and well .. he acts like it.

Edit: Ive went on tours with Fat Tire in Berlin two or three times in the past two years and its been good every time. The only drawback with either the Fat Tire tour in Berlin or Mikes Tour in Munich is that they both take you to some sort of overly expensive touristy place to eat during your tour with bad food. If you are in Munich I would suggest that you go to eat somewhere else after your bike tour, my wife always asks to go eat at Braunauer Hof near the Isartor.

Fat Tire Biker Tours in Paris, Barcelona, London and Berlin are all together. They were started by an Aggie in Paris. He stopped me several years ago when I was in Paris on one of the tours.

Brief history, David Mebane c/o 1999, started the company with his wife the year he graduated. Originally we were Bullfrog Bike Tours.

After a few years, we partnered with Mikes Bikes (a company w/ established locations in Munich & Amsterdam). During that brief partnership we took on the name Mikes Bikes.

In 2004 at the end of that partnership, we broke off from the Mikes Bikes brand and formed our current brand, Fat Tire Bike Tours. We welcome thousands of guests every year, and as you can imagine a good amount of Aggies as they pass through Paris. Love seeing all of the kind words, and glad to hear that the tours are living up to your expectations.

yeah, we took 3 tours with them on our honeymoon. the basic tour, the night tour, and the versailles tour. i highly recommend the one for versailles. you see a lot more than you ever would just on foot.

Sorry should have been more clear. I don't work for the company, but a good friend of mine does. I copy and pasted an email on the history to help the thread.
