Coming up on 10 years this summer. We're travelers been to western Europe and Caribbean several times & SE Asia recently.

We're looking at a few cruises to the Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean or Black Sea. Also looking at apartment rentals in Italy or Greek islands instead of a cruise.

If anyone has experienced any of this please tell me what you did and how you liked it. We'd like to travel this summer and be gone for about 2 weeks if you have other suggestions please share.

This might not even be on your radar, but New Zealand is a really special place, worthy of a 10-year anniversary trip IMO. It's certainly one of the most beautiful place in the world, and the people are really cool down there.

Just a few random ideas:

1. Prague -> Vienna -> Budapest

You can easily spend 3-4 days in each with either an overnight train to each one, fly, or day train. We did this in April and is was great. We packed a dinner and wine for an evening train between cities and the time went super fast. Tons to do in each locale.

2. A friend of mine used this itinerary this past summer and seemed to enjoy the trip. I think that they changed one or two days, but he is not one to be rushed and he had good things to say about all he had done/seen.

3. Second New Zealand comment noted above.

4. Central America - defroach is the man on planning trips down there. Easily could spend 2 weeks down there.

Thanks, these are great ideas. The inlaws did NZ a few years back and want to do it again as a family trip so it is on our radar for sure.
I love the idea of the eastern Europe adventure, this could be a possibility depending on how the cruise prices trend. Seems anyone I know whose done Prague had a blast and recommends it.

I would give Viking Cruises a good look if you are considering a cruise and that part of Europe. We did one on the Danube and it was the best we had ever been on. Great way to see a lot of places.
