My hubby's passport expires 3/4/12. He might need to travel to Germany &/or Sweden in Jan or Feb. Is that a problem? Seems like I was reading something about traveling restrictions on a passport that will expire within 6 mos.
TIA.

Personally, I would renew my passport as to avoid any issues.

I renewed my passport last year and received the new passport in a couple of weeks. I was really surprised it was so quick but I guess it is pretty easy if you have everything in order and an existing passport.

Depending where you live you might be able to walk it through in no time at all (Houston).

You should renew it.

Even if you have a visa beforehand, thats actually only a pre-approval and you can be rejected at the port of entry. There is no real reason to give any immigration official something that might not be 100%. Germans are pretty big sticklers for protocol and could reject him at the airport.

Definitely update the passport. If you have less than six months remaining, it's possible that the airline agents won't even let him board the plane.

I believe Germany requires that your passport is valid for a period of 2 or 3 months beyond your visit for tourism. Not sure what their rules for business travel are.

Probably better to just renew it now and not sweat the rules.

renew it.

if he's traveling for work, make them pay for the renewal
