If you have MLB.TV, Michael Wacha is going for his 100th win today. It's currently scoreless in the bottom of the 5th. Been a pitcher's duel so far, but the Royals have runners on first and second with no outs.

EDIT - Wacha has thrown 7 scoreless innings and looks to be done for the day (was taking handshakes in the dugout just now). 2-0 Royals in the bottom of 7.

Quote:

"It's definitely a cool number for sure, something that was on my goal list coming into the season," Wacha said of his milestone win. "It was definitely one of those days when (Bubic and Erceg) came in and slammed the door there."

it's been a remarkable turnaround for Wacha the past 3 years

things were not looking good for his career after the 2021 season

however in the last 3 seasons...he's posted a 37-13 won-loss record in 73 starts

obviously run support plays a part in the W-L mark, but to only be the losing pitcher of record 13 times in 73 starts shows great consistency

blowup starts are few and far between. He keeps his team in the game
