Maybe by year 2 if he never pitches again. I'm not saying he won't pitch again but he is on TJ #2.

Yeah as much as buying out Jimbo sucks, at least we only have to do it once. If Ohtani falls off a cliff physically, the Dodgers will only be a few million short of having to make that payment every year.

Seriously, glad they did this. I hate the Dodgers. While he is a spectacular player, one major injury (and he is a massive risk playing 2-ways) and they are cooked payroll wise for years.

If he is done pitching (and I doubt it) I bet they try him in the outfield. He's more than athletic enough to be a corner outfielder.
