One more win should clinch the best record in the NL.
Also on watch, if Harris can hit two more HRs he goes for 20/20 in his sophomore year. Not bad especially given how he started the year.

Wow, I felt really bad for Suzuki after he missed that catch in right.

I was jumping for joy. But, I too felt bad for him. If the Cubs end up out of the playoffs he is going to really feel it. Those two runs may matter at the end of this week.

Looking at Braves season record stats. I pulled these from mlb.com so I think they only include live ball era.
Season records broken this year
Olson with 53 HRs
A Jones had the record at 51
Acuna with 144 runs
D Murphy had the record with 131
Sheffield had the record with 132 RBIs
Olson is at 134 RBIs
*this turned out to be incorrect
Runs
Acuna is at 144
D Murphy had the record at 131
Records to chase with 5 games left:
Team HR
Record is 307 and we are at 301
Acuna
Sitting at 41 and 68 SB (would be amazing to see him establish the 40/70 club)
Most Hits
Acuna is at 211
Garr has the record at 219
Stolen Bases
Otis Nixon has the record at 72
Acuna is at 68
Ks

This was ruled a passed ball.

Has to be one of the worst calls I have ever seen. And it's not reviewable for some dumb reason.

Yates plunks Dansby on an 0-2 count, walks a guy, then gives up a broken bat bloop flare.

Ozuna hits a homer in the 9th! What should have been a walk off ties the game, but will gladly take it!
Harris follows with a double! Winning run on second!

Braves seem like a fun team to watch. I realize most 102 win teams are fun, but I'm ready to watch postseason Braves baseball.
10:15p, 9/27/23
How do all 4 umps miss that as a foul ball. I sure hope this crew doesn't see any postseason games. Can you imagine a world series being decided on that?

In reply to Aggie1205
This game had playoff implications for both teams (Braves home field for NLCS and wildcard for Cubs) and in a one run game that is a huge call.
Really inexcusable for all four to miss it. You can hear it hit the bat and the ball which was belt high hit the damn home plate in his lower shin.
And why is that not reviewable? That makes no sense at all…

Olson goes deep. Just surpassed Eddie Matthew's for Braves single season RBI record
Team has 304 HRs on the season
Braves lead 2-1 in 1st

Goodness. Cubs are killing themselves this series. I think they have had 4/5 errors that have cost them about 5/6 runs.

Ozuna with 2 bombs today
Braves tie the season team HR mark at 307. Rosario came within inches of hitting one himself.
Despite the loss it was a fun game to end the regular season on

I really, really like the way Ozuna is hitting the ball right now going into the playoffs…
8:07p, 10/3/23
Watching the Phillies and Marlins…
What in the world is Jazz Chisolm thinking? Bell gets on with a two out single and you have the power to go yard. And he goes up there, in the clean up spot, and half way squares up to bunt twice, the first of which cost him a strike, then strikes out swinging at breaking stuff.
This is the same guy who hit not one, but two grand slams against us the last series…

And on a national broadcast, Nick Castellanos just flipped off his own bench, in celebration, after hitting a bloop double.
He subsequently gets thrown out at the plate.

He didn't flip off anyone. He was raising his ring finger saying he wants a ring. I can see how you thought that though.

Well, that makes sense, but that is certainly not what it appeared to be live and on the replay.

Agreed. At first I thought the same thing. A later replay gave a clear angle showing what I mentioned.

I wouldn't blame Nick if he did flip the Phillies off. **** those guys, they deserve it.
9:38p, 10/4/23
I hate Philly so much. Hope the Braves sweep them with 10+ run differential every single game.
9:42p, 10/4/23
Yea, not thrilled about this match up. Hope our boys are ready to mash. Need Strider and Fried to be sharp.
