Arguing balls and strikes is one of the no-no's with umpires and the league. Supposedly undermines the umpires authority as if fans don't see the atrocious job some of them are doing.

That is especially egregious, but not surprising from Hernandez. Aside from him, am I the only one who has felt like umpires have been noticably worse this year when it comes to balls and strikes? I watch a lot of baseball every year and I have felt like this year I've seen a lot more really subpar umpiring as compared to normal.

It's been the last several years. My issue has been consistency from inning to inning. I don't care what the strike zone is so long as it's consistent and the same on both sides. I don't think they generally show favoritism but you can't count on the same pitch being called the same way even for the same pitcher.

Maybe. He was around without being fired and was terrible a long time before he filed suit.
