The Jet was a utility player, coming off the bench.

I can' t ague against Roy Hobbs, but I can add Steve Nebraska. How can you argue against a guy who can throw a perfect game in 81 pitches and hits a home run each time he's up. Granted it's only one game and he probably had Tommy John Surgery afterwards but man he was talented.

Tab Hunter as Joe Hardy with the Washington Senators in Damn Yankees. I think his batting average over half a season was .545 with 40+ home runs. Great book, great musical, great movie, great ball player!
