I still get a painful uncomfortable feeling in my stomach every time I think about it or someone brings up "one strike away".

Wait, what? We lost game 6? I went to bed after Hamilton's HR in the top of the 10th.

I just let it go. It hurt, but I'm a baseball fan first, and it was a great series.

Doesn't haunt me.

I feel like there is unfinished business to tend.

As mentioned... I lived the Dodgers' back-to-back losses in the '70s. I'm read for the Rangers to get their WS, like the LADs did.

This team wasn't a one-hit flash. They are well positioned to compete year-after-year. It will be just a matter of time (See Atlanta).

I'm not "haunted" per se, but I now look at every Ranger move through the lens of "does this increase our odds of finishing the job." The bar has been raised for me as a fan to the point that getting over the top while we have this window is all that matters to me. No more close enough, and if we have another epic fail like Game 6 I may need help.

+1

Probably won't go away until we win it all either.

I was at Busch Stadium on the 3rd base line a stone's throw away from Cruz.

While it haunts me, Sweet 16 San Antonio was still worse.

Peter Angelos haunts me.

As a Rangers enthusiast, i'd say without a doubt it still stings, but they are still a really good team and organization.

No reason to think it can't continue, and if the worst thing that happens is that you're the new age Braves, that's a pretty sweet deal.

unless you were screaming profanities at your Rangers hating roommate in celebration as that fly ball approached Cruz, only to see him miss it you will never know how I feel.

Or the modern day Buffalo Bills.

It's a triple whammy. So, not only did we lose the year before, we then lost that way. We were up 2, gave up the lead, only to have our injured star player hit his first homerun in forever to go back up by 2.
The third whammy, is that it cancelled a lot of the good feelings from the mavs championship, for me at least.

I was drunk, had just gotten home from the bar when Hamilton smashed his homer. Pure ecstasy. Followed by probably the worst/saddest drunk I've had in my life when the game collapsed.

For me, it seems like this offseason has been a disappointment. Especially if they can't come to terms with Yu. I don't feel like the team has gotten better. Especially with the Angels signing Pujoles and CJ. I'll suffer silently until they prove me wrong.

I never thought there could be a worse sports pain than the 2006 (whoop!) NBA Finals. Even after winning the championship this year 2006 still burns me.

Game 6 hurts worse than the 2006 (whoop!) finals, and it's not close. I will never get over it.

1 strike away... twice...

Some might consider this over dramatic or whatever, but I will always remember my reaction when Cruz didn't catch that ball in the 9th. People remember their feelings, emotions, thoughts after big moments in life... Literally, I about threw up. I couldn't believe it. It was like someone punched you in the gut, knocked all the wind out of you, and pressed repeat, over and over.

I still don't watch MLB network, read ESiPN's baseball coverage, anything really.. It's still too raw.

I gave in and finally bought season tix for this upcoming season (been going for over 20 years so don't give me any of that bandwagon crap) and maybe by April I'll be able to stomach the thought of "one strike away".. But not yet.
