Since Staff won't give us our own board, we can post WNBA "highlights" here. We had an epic NBA Finals. The draft is over. Time for non-stop WNBA competition!

2nd game I've ever watched and this is the only reason....she's the face of the league. CC is good but SC is instant entertainment. I'm waiting for her to go off with her black belt skills.

I doubt it. I think they had a pretty large crowd for the game at the United Center. I think there are enough popular players like CC, Paige Bueckers, and Mebounds Reese. There was a story coming out of All Star weekend about how the stars except CC no-showed the fan events that fans had paid hundreds of dollars for, and I wasn't shocked by the story, except that people were actually paying a lot of money for those events.




It is such a poorly run organization. I know it's never going to be as popular or a major sports league, but they have their equivalent to Larry Scott (Pac-10) or Larry O'Brien right now leading the way, and always have. The league has never had to stand on its own, and puts a lot of other things above making revenue.

They would rather boast about how many women they have officiating and the diversity of their crews instead of producing the best product possible.

I know y'all don't care about much regarding this league outside the Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham stories, but I thought I'd bring up an interesting side tale.

My hometown Dallas Wings had the first overall pick for the second year in a row. Last year they selected Paige Bueckers, who's looking like she may be able to challenge Caitlin to be the face of the league soon. This year, they picked up her former teammate, Azzi Fudd, highly regarded since high school and a solid player in her own right. This had been Dallas's expected pick for months. However, the very next pick, Olivia Miles, had looked like a bonafide star for years, and (at least to me) more certain to continue that play at the pro level, especially considering Fudd had missed most of two years with knee injuries. And sure enough, granted it's only their rookie year, Miles is looking far-and-away like the best player of the class so far.

The thing is, Fudd is also Bueckers's girlfriend. Again, she's a great player in her own right. But could you imagine the top of the draft in any other sport potentially being influenced by who's dating whom??

Seriously, though I pray she heals up quickly and no worse for the wear, and it's not her fault she got picked first…but it's already looking like a bad miss less than a season after the fact. LeSigh
