Another article I read said the girlfriend/baby mama also lived at the apartment complex where the break in happened. They weren't sure if it was mistaken identity yet or something else.

A lady at the apt is his baby mama, but they aren't together. There was a party for their kid's birthday earlier. He came back at 3am and kicked the door in - I'm guessing to find her with another man. He mistakenly went to the floor/apt direcly below hers. Oops.

So he tried to be Mr Rude awakening and ends up knocking down the door of a gun owner. It's not funny at all... But it sorta is.

Got kicked off the team at USC. Got kicked off the team at UNLV.

People are acting like he got the wrong apartment. But someone kicking a door open in this situation at 3am is up to no good. So IMO he found the right apartment.

In college, we were staying at a Hilton in Austin. My teammate got hammered that night and comes back to the hotel at 3am and goes to the wrong floor. He wakes up a ton of people pounding on the door thinking we locked him out. Glad he didn't take one to the chest.

Right, and I'm sure he didn't actually break the door down, then go to the bedroom door and start breaking it down.

Sorry, my post was not phrased correctly. I'm not condoning that basketball player's behavior. Being drunk makes people do stupid things. The home owner was perfectly reasonable in shooting the player

The media keeps saying he accidentally went to the wrong apartment leaving out the kicking in the door. And don't question why the hell would he be kicking in the door of his girlfriend at 3am? I'd like the media to address the poor decision making by so many young urban males! But hell NO they won't ever get to the root cause. And ever news story ends with "Authorities have not yet decided if they are going to charge the man" Charge him for what?

Charge him with not allowing a strange large black man to have his way with him in his own apartment at 3am.
