Does anyone recall, were they as dominant as GS, especially against the other good teams? My recollection was lots of close games won by MJ in the last few minutes.

They were amazing. I got to see them play early in the season.

Getting Rodman elevated them to all-time elite level. Harper was a great defender and obviously Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman were as well. IIRC they had a similar point differential as this year's Warriors.

I was a huge Rockets fan at the time and they were one of two teams (along with the Spurs) that had a winning record against Jordan. But they wouldn't have stood a chance that year.

I think they and this year's Warriors (so far) are the top 2 teams of all-time that I've seen.

I recall Clyde used to gaurd Jordan really well, one of the few that could match his length and athleticism.

when? certainly not the 92 finals when they matched up as supposed "equals" and jordan scored 36ppg and won MVP.

From I was recall, Vernon Maxwell used to defend Jordan pretty well.

Maybe that's what I was thinking, did Mad Max play in that finals or was that after his Lubys run in?

Mad Max played in the finals for the first Rockets championship but not the second.

I remember an interview in the 90s where Jordan said Maxwell was the best defender in the NBA.
