Agreed but my guess is plenty of folks here will defend him because he a) played for A&M, b) is screwing over the hated Mavs, or c) both. Any other set of circumstances and he'd be unanimously criticized.

Its definitely better for the rest of the West if he goes to Dallas because LAC would no longer be a contender and Dallas still wouldn't be a contender, but the Cuban tears if this does happen would be hilarious.

If he hasn't signed the paper, then he's not backing out on anything. There is a reason that written contracts exist.

Telling the Mavs you're in and letting the whole world for five days believe that you're committed to them only to balk at the last second isn't "backing out?" You and I have different definitions of that term. Did he cost Barrea a chance to go somewhere else? Did he cost WM a chance to go somewhere else? Did he cost Chalie V an opportunity to get more than the league minimum? DJ doesn't operate in a vacuum here, and people are making plans based on him keeping his word. That's significant, in my opinion.

Clips won 6 more regular season games than Dallas. Pretty sure one of the leagues best rebounders could close that gap significantly.

Come on now. The Clippers are title contenders with Jordan. The Mavs aren't. As a Rockets fan, I want Jordan in Dallas. That only leaves three teams better than us in the West, and one of them wouldn't be Dallas.

Look at what the Spurs have done to build around Tim Duncan over the past five years. They've drafted well, they've developed castoffs into affordable role players, and they've stayed flexible. Now imagine the opposite of that. That's how the Mavericks have been building around Dirk Nowitzki.
They've drafted nobody, they've paid role players (Parsons and Wes Matthews) like stars, and their actual role players are a disaster. Jordan worried about Blake Griffin leaving in two years? Dude. J.J. Barea was just playing 30 minutes per game in the playoffs.
