I can't imagine that the Marcus would choose the Lakers over the Spurs. Maybe other teams, but all the Spurs have to do is point to Duncan and his health in his 30s and Kobe and his healthy in his 30s, and ask him what he wants.

Given that the Marcus has played for an injury riddled franchise in Portland, he has to be keenly aware of that.

Woj said during the playoffs that a big draw of the Spurs for LMA was that Duncan/Manu/McDyess/etc have been able to extend their careers by playing for Pop and his style.

Salary cap graph from this website to demonstrate why a guy like Dragic getting his deal isn't that bad.

So what that graph tells me is the NBA has the Spurs championships to thank for spurring large increases in the cap.
