Duncan generally landed in the 7-11 range before his fifth title. There are non-Spurs sportswriters putting Duncan as high as 2nd now, although 4-6 is more common. Occasionally you'll see Olajuwon around 8-9, but more often in the 11-13 range (discounting Rockets bloggers, of course). Duncan has three more titles, one more finals MVP, one more regular season MVP, three more all-star games, three more all-NBA teams, and six more all-defense appearances. Olajuwon does have him 2-0 on DPOY, although Duncan's lack of DPOYs is a topic for another day.

Olajuwon's peak was impressive, but Duncan has been the linchpin of a really good team for 18 consecutive years. As a Spurs fan, you always wonder what kind of numbers Duncan would have put up in the post-centric league of the 90s. We'll never know, but in the end you're not going to find many reputable sources putting Olajuwon ahead of Duncan because Duncan has him dominated on awards and titles.

Seems ridiculous, doesn't Hakeem have him waxed on Points, Blocks, Steals, and Rebounds per game? That's with Hakeem having the standard "should have retired two years ago" victory lap years with horrible stats, and Duncan's twilight still to come.

Remember that the league changed a lot of rules around the time Olajuwon was slowing down that shifted the game to the perimeter and slowed the pace. Go have a look at their points per possession and NBA league pace by year and get back to me.

There's is not one point of Duncans career where he could have guarded Hakeem. Hakeem could have guarded PEAK Duncan at any point in his career.

Duncan has more achievements. Congrats to his team and the best coach in basketball. Hakeem was 10x the post player in every facet of the game.
