"Its Kyrie Irwing's team, not Lebron's"

I sense the media will start this soon enough

We are at least 4-5 years away from that.

LeBron would have to be dead for that to be true.

While I d agree. Y'all underestimate the media. Kyrie has had some big games as of late. He seems to be taking the lead in shots made for the Cavs

How did they do with Kyrie and without Lebron last year? Surely he led the team in shots made that year.

Didn't they have a long losing streak when Lebron took those two weeks off early in this season?

Didn't the Cavs go on a long winning streak after Lebron returned?

We're done here.

Not even sure why the Cavs have a coach. LeBron's team. No matter where he plays.

It was Kyrie's team last year and they missed the playoffs in the weak eastern conference. It's lebrons team now and they're the 2 seed. This isn't a debate

Something about Kevin Love, Mozgov, a new coach and basically an entire new roster

Anything else you wanna bring up?

This reminds me of when the media started saying the Bulls were Scottie Pippen's team back in the year that never existed.

And yet, even with a healthy Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving, perpetual losers before this season, couldn't lead the team to a winning streak while Lebron was resting/hurt. Does this team make the playoffs without Lebron? Sure. Do they go past the first round? Possibly. Eastern Conference finals? No. They lose to the Hawks or the Bulls easily.

As stated above, it's Lebron's team. No. Doubt. About. It. He's the coach and the star.

Again, we're done here.

And another point with regards to Mosgov, JR Smith and Iman Shumpert: the same thing could be said for OKC. You take Lebron away from Cleveland, they aren't a contender. OKC traded for Enes Kanter, Dion Waiters, DJ Augustine and Kyle Singler to go for it all. The way Kanter played down the stretch offset the loss of Ibaka. Westbrook is a better PG than Irving. Look at what happened to OKC when they lost Durant...the same thing that would have happened to Cleveland: title chances go out the window. Cleveland would make the playoffs in the ****ty east without Lebron, but no chance of competing for a title.

Gee, I wonder whether the Cavs improved by 20 wins because of Lebron James or Timofey Mozgov. Mozgov is a nice player, but 90% of NBA fans couldn't pick him out of a lineup until he landed on the Cavs.

I never said it wasn't Lebrom's team. Turning a blind eye to all the differences outside of Lebron was stupid though.

Or maybe they're a great team this year because they have Lebron, Mozgov and Love.

Selective reading?

I don't get why you're starting to dig in on a position you claim not to believe. Do everything the Cavs did but replace Lebron with a league average starter and they are not considered a contender. It's a hypothetical so we can't prove it either way, but Mozgov, Love, and a first year coach isn't nearly the upgrade you're making it out to be.

What? I acknowledged the difference. I then compared them to OKC's situation where a team without their superstar (Durant) didn't reach expectations, the same likely fate as the Cavs without Lebron even with Mosgov, Irving, Love, Smith, Shumpurt, etc.

Your entire premise in this thread is stupid.

Lebron has declined slightly and Kyrie seems to have improved or become more confident. The media also loves a story or stirs the pot constantly. My guess is that they will start this sorta story soon enough. Sooner than what y'all are predicting.

Lebron is the man and its his team. He's the biggest piece to the puzzle but my point was there are several other pieces to the puzzle that is Cleveland going from a dumpster fire to a 2 seed.

This team would blow out the Cavs that had Lebron years ago

Here's your initial response. I also forgot to break the other stuff down.

The Cavs were not good at the beginning of the season with or without Lebron. If I need to explain why, I can't help you

Well, it took a while for the Heat to mesh in the LeBron/Wade/Bosh era too. It takes a while for team chemistry to develop, especially when adding 3 ball hungry superstars onto one lineup. Did the trades help the Cavs get deeper and overall better? Sure. But 20 games worth? Absolutely not.

Btw, how did the heat do this year? I mean, they added Loul Deng and Whiteside...

And what about Leonard's Spurs? Emerging super star and all, surely it's his team now, right? Duncan is too old and irrelevant. 5 pieces of bling don't matter as much as age.

If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that ESPN stops covering you when you stop being relevant or not as good as you used to be.

That's why you never seen any stories anymore about:

1) Tiger Woods
2) Tim Tebow
3) Kobe Bryant

OP is a genius, you guys are just jealous of his insight.

Yeah, because the media never drums up drama and Kyrie isn't taking more shots than Lebron. Also, the media is already talking about how Lebron has slightly declined.
