I know Rox haven't had a ton of success, but any playoff game > tonight's game.

It's big game for both sides. We all know it.

Ehh. It could prove to be a huge game or it could prove to be insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Only time will tell tbh. Both teams definitely want to win though.

Not acting like it's anything more than a regular season game though. Win or Lose.

Bigger game for their squad than for SA.

I really don't care about seeding--if we take an L, we just pack it in and wreak havoc from the 6 seed.

Their confidence will be shaken if they drop two straight to the Spurs with the division on the line.

Splitter isn't playing.

And say what you want but Splitter plays elite defense and can shut down stretch bigs (like Lamarcus Aldridge. Don't know who guarded him in last year's Houston-Portland series but it wasn't effective), he's a top notch big man passer, and we're paying him maybe half of what Howard is making. Oh and he hasn't had several major back injuries + is in the midst of a decline.

I'm not hugely worried about homecourt, but to be honest, I would feel really good having it in the playoffs. Really want this game tonight.

I'd like it too, but last year the spurs were 32-9 at home and 30-11 on the road. They also won at least 1 road game in every playoff series.

I think where home court advantage would really help is if a series goes to game 7. I'm not too worried in games 1-6 being on the road or home for the Spurs.

Agree with the notion that this is a much bigger game for the Rockets than the Spurs. If the Spurs lose I think they are over it before they are out of the shower. The amount of playoff and championship experience on their team is ridiculous and they know that any regular season game is meaningless, especially because they are so comfortable playing on the road. If the Spurs win it would be kind of a "well, that's nice to have the 2 or 3 seed or whatever but it doesn't guarantee crap" type of attitude.

For the Rockets though a loss would be a blow. It would symbolize them fading to the finish and getting donkey punched by the Spurs at the end. They have some vets and some rings on the team but nothing like the Spurs. I could see the idea that they have to win every playoff series as a road team weighing on them heavily. Maybe they could blow it off but I see it as a tough one to come back from.

Man, Duncan followed through with his block and hit forearm, but he got a lot of ball before that.
