I agree he has deserved it way before this though.

The three big guys alone obviously don't win it by themselves without the right guys around them. There are only the big three players still with the team from the last title in 07.

In fact, not a single player outside the three are still with the team from the 2010 team that upset the Mavs in the first round.

He is very deserving.

Wasn't Bonner on the roster in 2010?

They went from twin towers to Duncan's team running through the post to Parker's team running through the PG all without dropping below 50 wins per season. Outside of the big 3 they've probably turned the roster over completely at least twice in Buford's tenure, and over the past few years they consistently have one of the best benches in the league, yet they never have high draft picks. On the one occasion that they did move up for a high draft pick they nabbed Leonard at 15: an elite defender, great wing rebounder, and tremendously efficient and increasingly skilled scorer (16 points per 36 minutes on 58% shooting).

He should win executive of the post big bang era just for turning George Hill into Kawhi Leonard.

I agree with what I saw on espn: morey should be executive of the year and buford should be executive of the decade.
