I think the consensus is that Chris Paul is the worst these days.

CP3 is bad, but I always hate listening to Gasol's screams of pain as he is touched to hard because of the microphones the TV station puts on the goals

I think they need a lab where they recreate each flop to determine the amount of force necessary to legitimately cause each reaction.

The worst offenders each week are forced to be test subjects in the lab. I would pay good money to see some guy in a labcoat repeatedly throwing elbows at Chris Paul. "Nope, that wasn't hard enough either. Let me get a running start this time. I need to hit you hard enough to send you 5 feet to the left with a 3/4 twist midair."

Chris Paul has it by a landslide, there is no one close. He falls down consistently without even being touched. He has infected the whole team with the same BS.

Out of the guys you listed, Paul Pierce is the worst, especially with the pump fake and jump into the defender move. Manu pretty much stopped flopping last year to avoid landing on the floor as much. No one has seen a Cavs game in two years, so there is no way to know if Varejao still flops. Battier sells calls but he doesn't flop like a Chris Paul or play for the foul like Paul Pierce.

I don't condone what CP3 did right there, but you've got to admit that it's kind of a heady play. He realized that he's tangled up (albeit barely) with Cousins, who already has a bad rep with the refs, so maybe they blow a quick whistle when the refs see that it's Cousins who he's standing next to.

I haven't watched as much NBA this year due to the Rockets lack of a TV deal, but the games that I have watched, it does seem like flopping is way down. It looks like the new rule is working, to me.

I don't care how likely he is to get the foul call. That should be at least a technical, and I would be completely in favor of a rule that allows ejections after video review for that kind of BS. Chris Paul is my least favorite NBA player because of this kind of thing.

Agree. Chris Paul is an amazing player but that is the type of crap that is demeaning to the game.

People often mix up flopping with guys who try to fall down to take a charge or what not. It doesn't bother me as much seeing guys trying to sell a foul or contact but seeing CP3 do this is just awful and the league better recognize it. I don't expect the NBA to do anything since it's one of their poster boys but CP3 doing that is just ridiculous and he should be fined.

I probably shouldn't have used the word "heady." I agree with y'all that flopping has no place in the game, and according to the new rules, he should be fined.

That play just amuses me for two reasons. First, he's so used to flopping that he completely ignores the fact that he's probably going to get fined. And second, it's like he was thinking, "oh, I'm standing next to DeMarcus Cousins...maybe I'll flop here real quick..."

I get what you mean, but to me there's a line between pushing the boundaries to get every advantage you can and flat out subverting the rules of the game. That's when Paul flops on a dead ball or heliflops on little or no contact like the photo above, or when Paul Pierce or Wade intentionally give up a clear shot to jump into a defender, or Nowitzki flails his arms because someone was standing nearby while he shot, or when Ginobili or Reggie Miller kick a foot into the closeout on a three, or a post defender who should body up flops instead.

I get being competitive, but what's the point in winning when you had to cheat? You give up the opportunity to win it fair.
