Anybody able to pick up any for face value on Ticketmaster this morning? Just curious. Mom, Dad, and I got on right at 10 and were able to get a single for game 3 and 5

I tried at 10am and attempted to buy tickets 7 times within a 15 minute period and could not.

I went out to the AAC, thinking that would give me a better shot than ticketmaster. It was a madhouse out there. I think there wwere alot more people than expected (at least more than I expected). I didn't get lucky with the lottery though. Also couldn't get any online. Looks like I will be forced to go the stubhub/ebay route.

Yeah, I'll give you a better deal than StubHub. Email me at platinum903 at yahoo dot com

I want some tickets as well.

Wait until 2 hours before a game, jump on StubHub and you'll do well. Buying them now is a ripoff.

That might be the case in the regular season or early in the Playoffs, but waiting until late has never been a good policy when the Spurs were in the Finals in the past.

There is simply too much demand to drive prices a lot farther down.

DC just wants you to purchase tickets from him

I only have 2 left. Easiest $10k I've ever made.

Wait, some stupid person paid way too much money for tickets? Shocking.

Like I said, get your tickets at gametime, you'll either:

- get a much better deal and be happy you waited
- feel they are still overpriced and decide not to go but be happy you didn't waste money
- go ahead and pay the higher price but know you didn't give your money to the Mav-hater Diet Cokehead.

DC has been posting on texags on the NBA consistently for probably over a decade and you seem to have just shown up last month. Show some respect

I actually keep a spread sheet on this. Before the playoffs started, I was actually right about break even for the season but my wife and I went to about 6-7 games that I didn't sell.

I didn't do it for the money and certainly didn't think they would make it this far, but it's been a nice little bonus. I actually renewed for next year because with a renewal, they gave us and option to buy 2 more seats for the WCF and Finals. Basically, this post season has p paid for next years seats and a little more.

I'm not sure why there are so many butthurt posters on this thread about me making a little money in the playoffs. I haven't sold to one texags poster to date and don't care to. It cracks me up that some of you think $10k in ticket sales = me bragging about being rich.

Sadly, this is true.

Selling tickets for profit is nothing new. You are buying a commodity when the demand and price is low and reselling when the demand and price goes high. Basic economics. If the team does poorly, then you are not going to be getting anything back.

It requires some money to invest in, but if you get the chance and you are patient then you can make money. And if you don't get to sell the tickets for a price you want, then you can go to a game or gift them to friends or family.

I understand getting offended if these were Texas A&M tickets and DC was holding out just to be able to stick it to people on Gameday, but people pay ridiculous prices for professional sports tickets anyways.

I almost did the same thing with the Dallas Cowboys season tickets this past year, but I couldn't get a hold of seats that I felt I could sell easily. I was just needed a little more cash to get a decent investment. Good thing, too, because that past season would have killed any chance for a profit.

don't be butthurt that he made money, laugh at the people who paid multiple k per ticket...think of all the things you can do with that money

Depends on how important it is to you - I know that being able to take my SO and my entire family to all the World Series games last year will be something I'll look back on 20 years later and be very glad I did. Moreso than whatever I might have otherwise bought with the money.
Diet Cokehead

mhayden, i feel the same way.

I spent a lot of money to fly down to SA and purchase a ticket to Game 7 of the NBA Finals in 2005, but it is one of my fonder memories and probably something in which another oppotunity wouldn't come back up to cross off my bucket list. It was money well spent for sure.

And I highly doubt 20 years from now I think back and say "wow, I really am glad I bought that plasma TV"

Yeah, I am all for experiences over material things, but there's a balance you have to find there. To some people, $5k is not a lot of money. To me, it's a hell of a lot.

Definitely agreed... My point is I'd take that lot of money and blow it on something I dont remember 10 years later
Muy

Agreed, I paid a hellalot to take my sons to the World Series but we'll always have that memory together. Not sure I'd shell out that much for the NBA though, but that's just me.

Agree. I would NEVER consider paying serious money on the NBA, but the World Series is a different story.

Flew home for game 3 of the WS...alot of money spent on flight and tix. When the Mavs made the finals, I was happy, but not "gonna blow a few thousand" happy.

That's because you guys aren't NBA fans like most of us on here. That's one of the main reason's people don't like Muy.

He stops by this board to gloat about the Mavs until they collapse every year, then he is nowhere to be found.

Personally, I would never spend more than $100 on a World Series ticket, but I understand that MLB fans would. It just depends on what you enjoy.

Agreed. I'd pay more for an A&M Final Four ticket than I would a Cowboys Super Bowl ticket.

Dear lord were you crying while you typed this? I haven't been here gloating about the Mavs, yet you seem to bring my name up anytime some starts a thread about whether non-Mavs fans will root for the Mavs. Seriously, don't sound like such a ***** dude, it's embarrassing.

Then try and toughen up and quit acting like this is your board jackass, otherwise I'll keep lecturing to you, deal?

How much did you spend to go to Mt Everest's base camp (something I hope to do someday)?
