I agree. KG is a model citizen in his personal life. There is no reason to call him a POS just becuase he snarls at people and talks trash. I read how Jordan and Bird were some of the worst in the history on the court, but nobody here would call them a POS.

KGarnett will always be a POS for his cancer comment to the player that just lost someone to cancer. Dont remember names. Then he tried to play it off as "I didn't mean it about actual cancer."

Didn't he also tell Tim Duncan "Happy Fathers Day" the year Tim's dad died of cancer? I dont know, I feel like I read that somewhere...and this was before Tim had kids?

Garnett told Duncan "Happy Mother's Day Mother F***er!" when he was shooting free throws some years back. Duncan's mother died before he was in college, and this has been common knowledge forever (in other words, KG knew Duncan's mom was dead).

Garnett has been trying to get into Duncan's head since Duncan entered the league. To KGs chagrin, Duncan has pretty well only responded by owning the T' Wolves for years, winning 4 championships vs. 1, and putting up a better career overall than Garnett.

Maybe Tim can give him another present this June in the Finals.

and even if KG did say that, it was in the middle of a game so it was just trash talk in an attempt to give his team an edge. Nothing wrong with that.

all i found when i googled "kevin garnett tim duncan" was a couple of spurs message board posts speculating what KG alledgedly said to duncan.

no on air interviews confirming it, no articles citing the supposed exchange while at the free throw line.

And KG told villanueva that he LOOKS like a cancer patient. Which he DOES. He never said anything to someone who had recently lost someone to cancer.

KG definitely said he is a cancer patient. then rescinded his comments/modified them because of the media backlash.

I love watching KG play but I had to mute his ass in the closing seconds when they won their title.

It seems like there were more posts on here yesterday.

Given the way he plays, I don't mind Garnett. Although his antics are sometimes a little over the top (crazy eyes, goaltending shots after a foul stoppage, etc.), given his motor, competitivness and skill, I think most of us would forgive him if he was on our favorite teams.

The comment to Villenueva didn't bother me too much as I've heard worse things playing ball. KG's attempt to backtrack was definitely stupid.

As for the Duncan mother's day story, that would be way over the line, but I'd have to see more significant evidence than message boards before that influences my opinion of KG. We see it all the time on this and other boards where stories align with our dislike of a player and we run with them before facts are substantiated. I did a search and all I could find were forums referencing the event but nothing from a valid news source.
