Need a little help here.....

I'm going to Spain in early November with 3 others and we thought it would be fun to catch a game while in Madrid.

Started looking into tickets for Real Madrid and they show to be playing on November 5th. Great, let's do it, that works for our schedule...

I go to StubHub to look for tickets and it shows game times for the same opponent (Rayo Vallecano) for the both November 4th & November 5th.

Are they playing the same team twice in two days? Is there possibility the game shifts from one day to the next etc. Just looking for a little clarity here, because I have yet to find any on the interwebs!

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the help!

Just curious...why would they list both or give you the opportunity to buy tickets for both days?

Matches get rescheduled pretty frequently for teams competing in Europe and domestic cups. They probably have an option on either day depending on UCL scheduling.

20 something years ago I went there for the champions league semifinal. Awesome experience. Strange thing at the time is that at halftime, everyone broke out a bocadillo wrapped in al foil. I mean everybody. King Juan Carlos had one.

Real won the champions league that year with a stacked team. Roberto Carlos was amazing. My favorite player was Fernando Heirro.

Ha! Late dinner there. Buy your bocadillo at the restaurants south of the stadium beforehand and take it in for halftime. Get plenty of copas before too because they don't sell alcohol inside.

I bought all my tickets through RM/Ticketmaster. Normally on sale after the prior game leading up to the match. Kiosks to print them on arrival were on the north side of the stadium. This is all 2009-2011 mind you but was the same for league and CL matches, before the renovation. My experience that way was always better than with scalpers.

Metro after will be crowded and plenty of thieves (had lots of hands in my pockets first game but didn't lose anything since it was zipped up inside my coat). I found it better to get a taxi or simply walk to nuevos ministerios and have a less crowded stop to board from.

Great environment for games. When I was there the south end was the place to be. I'd get tickets on that side for the tifos and full experience.

I'm coming up on 10 years since I went to the Bernabeu for my 30th Birthday.

CR7 hat trick. Benzema and Bale both scored braces. It was ridiculously awesome.

I live in Europe and have been to a match at Bernabeu twice now. It's not an overly hard ticket to get. I bought off stubhub both times and got great tickets at good prices both times within 24 hours of match time.

has the renovation changed the food and drink options? we were a bit shocked when we went how little food and drink is available. fans were pulling sandwiches and wine out of their pockets. it's definitely nothing like american sports stadiums.

Lucky you. This is the most memorable gem that I saw while I was there:

I am going to this same game! From what I have been able to gather, the tickets don't go on sale until a couple/few weeks ahead of the game. Definitely wait to buy on the team website. You can buy a membership (I think it is $39 Euros) and get access a day earlier than the general public if you want. This is a small team from Madrid, but I'd expect tickets to be fairly easy to get.

None of the soccer stadiums have food and drink options that come close to American stadiums and a renovation won't change that. Little stoppage time and shorter games make that just not that viable of a marketplace at stadiums in Europe. It's not just a Madrid thing… same thing in all the Premier League matches I've been to as well.

A friend of mine has been to Bundesliga matches and said the food and drink options are high-quality and low-priced.

Not been there but that's interesting. Been to plenty of matches around London, a couple in Madrid, one in Edinburgh and went to a match in Lille too. Pretty much every stadium I've been to here in the actual stadium, food and drink options are minimal and, as a soccer match is kind of a continuous thing with no stoppage, I don't even really think about concessions except maybe at halftime if I forgot to bring a water bottle in.

I believe you. Maybe it's better in Germany? Or maybe my friend just got lucky. Either way, he came away really jealous of their Gameday experience compared to US sports.

Great info!

Sounds like we need to load up on sammiches and vino before the game, and get ready to have a great time.

Looks like tickets go on sale to the general public 10/30 (earlier if you are a member) for the Rayo match that OP mentioned. I coincidentally will be at the same match. My question to those who have been to the Bernabeu before is which side/end is the best? East, West, North, South? I'm a Liverpool fan and certainly no Madridista, but love football and want a good experience. There will be 4 of us.

TIA

I was lucky enough to attend a 2012 match with a season ticket holder. Sat right behind Casillas (for a half, at least). Ronaldo, Benzema, Alonso, Marcelo, Ozil, Higuain, Pepe, Kaka, Di Maria, and Varane (on the bench). What an experience.

Siento about Liverpool's recent results vs. Madrid. Enjoy the atmosphere, fellas!
