Texas A&M Soccer is set to face LSU in the 3rd round of the SEC Tournament on Tuesday at 2:30PM (Central). The game will air live on the SEC Network. The Aggies have been resting through their double-bye while #14 seed LSU won consecutive games to advance to this quarterfinal round.

Winless through the regular season, LSU became the first team to wait until the SEC Tournament to win their first game of the season. That's probably a record that will stand indefinitely. At this moment, LSU is 2-6-2 on the season. Simply speaking, LSU is playing their best soccer of the year.

LSU gave A&M some trouble in their last regular season game of the season. Their speed was a problem for the Aggies and LSU took advantage of their limited opportunities. The Aggies beat LSU 2-1, but A&M was probably relieved to see the game end.

LSU followed that game up with a 2-0 victory over #11 seed Alabama in the first round of the SEC Tournament. Then, on Sunday LSU knocked off #6 seed Ole Miss in Overtime by a score of 2-1.

Taylor Dobles scored both goals against Alabama and Tinaya Alexander followed that by scoring both goals against Ole Miss. Tinaya Alexander was also responsible for the goal against Texas A&M. Alexander has pushed herself to the top of LSU's scoring list with her 5 total goals and 1 assist.

Mollee Swift has served as goalkeeper for LSU in all but one match this season. She has allowed 13 total goals while tallying 47 saves. She ceded 2 goals to A&M earlier this season while making 7 saves.

A&M outshot LSU in their earlier match 25-5 with a Shot on Goal disparity of 9-2. Sunday's game against Ole Miss was actually only the second time that LSU outshot an opponent this season.

While LSU is red hot by this year's standards, they shouldn't be expected to keep this streak going. They had some bad luck in the regular season and have seemed to have corrected it in post-season play. The Tigers do have some athletes, but overall this team is not going to be competing for an SEC Championship, especially on tired legs.

It's a matchup that I personally wasn't hoping for, but A&M should be able to handle the Tigers once again and extend the all-time series record to 11-0-1.

LSU speed has to start showing signs of fatigue. I think we pressure the hell out of them and make them run that should open up things for us.

We ought to win handily. Hope we keep them moving. They are, as my wife put it Sunday, "scrappy."

I'm confused about what accumulated points you are looking at.

The rankings this year are silly. It's a top 15 among SEC, ACC, and Big 12. It was a good win for LSU regardless, but I still don't think I would've had Ole Miss listed in mine.

Cumulative points: I gave 3 points to a team for each victory they had and 1 point for every draw. Then I totaled the points to get the cumulative total points of each team. and ranked them based these totals.

I don't think playing into the wind affects us too much offensively in the 2nd half with our possession style of build up, but it will help LSU with their speed if they can connect on some long balls. We need to get one here at the end of the first half.
