Does anyone have a Remington 700 short action (.243) youth stock laying around? I have an old stock that I can cut down if need be, but figured I would ask here before I did that.

Located in Houston but will be in Dallas and East Texas over the next few weeks.

I used Magpul on my 243 . I could adjust it for each kid and as they grew

Also get them a good scope with good eye relief (so they aren't tempted to lean up on it and get scoped) and enough magnification that they can tell the difference btwn a nub'n buck and an old doe.

Years ago, I bought an extra stock off of eBay and cut it down for my kids. I think I took 4" off of it. When they all got big enough, I put the full size stock back on. The ones that still hunt all have their own rifles now. Saving their old rifle for the grandkids.
So the greatest civilization is one where all citizens are equally armed and can only be persuaded, never forced. It removes force from the equation... and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

Appreciate the responses. I have my grandfathers Remington 700 BDL, but my dumba** cousin dropped it a few years ago and knocked a chunk out of the stock. He also didn't bother to keep the wood piece where I could make a repair.

At this point I think I will cut that stock down, and then buy a new stock when my son gets older. He is only 7 now, but shot my full size .243 off a tripod this weekend and put 2-rounds in the bullseye from 50 & 100 yards. Just figured a shorter LOP would be more comfortable.
