I have a factory installed RAM Tri-Fold Soft Tonneau Cover for a RAM 1500 with a 5'7" Bed. This came off of my 2022 RAM. It was in use for 18,000 miles and lived a nice cushy life in the garage.

The cover is in excellent condition. It has quick release latching clips on the front and back that make it quick and easy to install and remove. I changed to a hard cover for additional security.

How much water penetration does this allow into the bed?

I don't have an accurate answer for this question as I didn't experience rain when I had items in the bed. After the car wash there would be a little bit of water that seeped into the bed, but not much. More like a few glistening areas, but no pooling water. Definitely not any through the cover itself, but some can get in through the edges and corners. In general, I think almost all allow a little water through.
