I am listing this for a friend. Unfortunately, he needs to sell his Bill Wiseman Texas Safari Rifle in .280 Ackley Improved. If you aren't familiar with .280 AI, there is very good Nosler factory ammo available for it, but he also has a very accurate load he developed for it, and he will give you what he has loaded with the rifle. With factory brass loaded with 58.5 grains of 4831SC behind a Hornady 162 ELDx it shoots a ragged hole. It is sighted in and ready. The rifle has only had about 40 rounds fired through it--enough to find a good load, but he is no longer able to use the gun for the purpose it was intended--hunting in Colorado. There aren't even any signs of wear on the bolt head and there isn't a scratch on the gun.
The gun was built by the famous barrel maker, Bill Wiseman. It uses Bill's Texas Safari Action and one of his 24" barrels, both black Ceracoted, a Timney trigger set at 2.5 lbs, and a Choate stock. He currently has a Vortex Viper 4 x 20 x 50 on it, and he paid $2500 for the rifle alone. He wants $1800 for all of it, or $1500 for the rifle with no scope. email him at: gbishop1955@icloud.com
