The town next to me: their HS colors were maroon and white, but the mascot was the Longhorns. Even the water tower had a maroon longhron on it. I do the "thumbs down" every time I pass it on the way home.
dobie high is also the longhorns, but byran makes up for it by lookin like the aggies
My Dad teaches middle school in the Houston area and he just about accepted a coaching job with a school that has a Longhorn mascot. I saw him wearing one of their hats and I about FREAKED. He didn't end up taking the job- dodged that bullet!

Round Rock High is maroon so naturally we WW there rival got the orange

I graduated from Pearsall High School, 40 miles south of San Antonio. Our colors were green/white; however, The helmet design was identical to the t-sip logo. Our fight song was the Aggie War Hymn. Every time we played it, the people in the stands put that nasty, vulgar, incestuous hook em "mavericks" sign up in the air. I never could get used to that environment.
Whoa- a Pearsall guy?? I married a Pearsall Aggie just this past January...it seems like there are lots of Aggies in Pearsall. Good people...
Yes, good people but I never liked the thought of "hook em" and the aggie war hymn together.

My high school was red and black, too, so I feel your pain. As for the Pearsall guy, I can see your point. Those two (War Hymn & horns) should never go together.

The freaking burnt orange Hutto Hippos and their "Texas Bites" fight song beat my Maroon and white Cameron Yoeman and their TCU fight song last night.
this sounds a lot like the mixing of holidays in the media now. except more painful and akward.
I teach at a middle school whose colors are orange and blue and the mascot is a longhorn. During my interview the principal asked why I would want to work here. I replied, "equal time."
I emphasize the blue in the school colors, and fortunately the school logo has a longhorn distinctive from the t.u. longhorn. (It's too bad that when the coaches order shirts it's cheap and easy to go with the t.u. logo.)

my schools mascot was the longhorns it blew, every time the fight song played they would hold up their horns, i refused to. we were green and white i guess it wasn't so bad.
but my gosh did we have a bunch of t-shirt sip fans, i've pretty much decided i hate everyone of them and when i go home now i cus at them.

Gonzales is orange and white. At the time, I thought it looked pretty cool. It's still not burnt orange, though.

Ppl on my side of Amarillo have longhorn stickers but I have to remember it's for the HS not t.u.

My high school colors were orange and white and to boot our school mascot was the longhorns. Our football helmets were replicas of the tu ones. Its been a rough time as an undergrad here at A&M with the way our teams been playing the last few years. Oh well at least I'm not a t-shirt fan like most of everyone else in our school.
We were the Hart Longhorns, but our colors were maroon and white. My extremely Aggie wife had vertigo when she saw people in maroon doing the hook 'em horns sign.
I went to school in Hutto - yep, we're burnt orange & white. Also did Texas Bite as our fight song.
At least Hutto won yesterday and they will be playing in the state semis next week. I might even have to go home for the state title game (if they make it that far).
