I often see coaches give up on a RB whose style is designed to wear down defenses. The RB will be contained for the first half and the coach wil adjust his gameplan at halftime. Last Saturday. Javorskie Lane had like 8 carries for 33 yards in the first half, but then exploded in the second half with around 106 yards on 14 carries. I'm the first to admit that was against OK State, but I think it's important to recognize that Lane's style is to wear down the defense and you will typically see his numbers increase during the 2nd half.

I'm looking forward to seeing him in the same backfield as a healthy C-Lew, or other speedy back.

I doubt that Lane and Lewis would be used at the same time much. They're both TB's. Lane is not really a FB blocker for Lewis.

I think we should alternate the 2 of them. Keep them fresh and wear down the defense. Bring on the wishbone, baby!

I think using them in the same set would be advantageous. You've got an inside runner and an outside option threat. That, and Lewis could motion out into a receiver position.

EMY92,

Those were some of the best days watching Greg Hill and Rodney Thomas play. I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
