I was looking for pictures (still am so if you have them post them here) of The Jumbotron at Kyle Field. And ran accross this gem out of an ESPN Article about the yell leaders...

we got something similar to that in a magazine when i came to freshmen orientation in '01. btw, skyrocket is gay. there was a reason they did away with it years ago.

It's nauseating watching McNeal, and how much progress that [censored] has made and how good he's become. I got an idea.... sky rocket, would be greater like if instead of saying "Whistleeeeee", we actually whistled... think about it to yourself... And so what if other schools laugh at the yells... what kinda traditions they got? Playin' with dirt? Havin' a "hex" rally?...

come on guys, while i appreciate and respect the yell leaders and the yells.....anyone who thinks that picture isn't dammmm funny is wound just a little too tight.

Actually Blake, according to some old Ags in my family, the original Skyrocket was whistling instead of the crowd saying "whistle-e" like we do now, and supposedly is wasn't nearly as gay. I wouldn't mind doing that, simply to hear what 80K people whistling would sound like
ryan bishop still does locomotive different than I was taught and have seen. I thought there was some forearm rotation in there.

i wasn't saying that yells are gay, or the hand signals are gay, or that yell leaders are gay, or anything like that. It's just that posing for hand signals is a bit awkward, and it comes through in their facial expressions. Some of you are taking this too seriously, we can learn to laugh at ourselves sometimes, clearly the yell leaders are in those pictures.
lessee sip, our yell leaders give hand signals to start yells. When your g-yleaders have those cute megaphones up to their little mouths, what do they say to start the cheer , 2 bits, 4 bits, or hold that line, or our team is red hot- your team is all shot, or to throw those cheerleaders up so the team will get fired up when you catch them, or maybe they just enjoy having fun with those megaphones?
