I played in a playoff game against Rodney Thomas while he was at Groveton. He was a stud, almost killed our MLB in a head to head collison.

Also, played against Willie Mack Garza from Refugio. Had he not torn up his knee at tu he would have had a great NFL career. His teammate, Jason Youngblood was a lineman stud that somewhat protected Andre Ware(at least when they weren't at Kyle Field) and played for Atlanta for a few years.

a laundry list of them. You can't play 5A in Texas without running into a bunch of them.

Casey Hampton - I was supposed to cut block him on one play, the sat. morning video, it looked like I ran into a tree trunk.

Quinton Jammer - in the game we played him, he played QB, WR, CB, FS, PR, and KR. I actually tackled him on a punt.

Do coaches count?
Played football in H.S. with Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith.

You don't see many pros at the 2A/3A level. Especially in South Texas.

For the D 26-5A group...I wouldn't forget Otis Grigsby from Judson. Otis played for the Dolphins before getting cut this year. However, he is working out with the Falcons right now (From what I hear).

Played with current Green Bay DB Chris Johnson

Played against Luke McCown and all the kids that went pro from Texarkana in a playoff game. Future NFL WR Terrence Murphy from Tyler Chapel Hill as well.

Had a scrimigage against Lufkin. Don Muhlbach and Terrance Kiel were on that team.

You can play in 23-5A without running into a lot of D1 and future pros. I can only remember Ty Allert and Kyle Repond. Maybe there were some Dobie guys that I don't remember. A coule of years ago, we got a DL from Sam Rayburn, and I think that is the only one in a long time.

RC wanted him bad, but Sloan chose the bad guys in the end. On Texans now.

Played against Jason Tucker, although I don't think he's in the NFL now. Could be wrong though. He had one or two decent years with the Cowboys.

Brian Patrick

Bertrand Berry - DE for AZ was a LB/RB for Humble in high school. I had to hang on for dear life when I had to block him - and yes, I know that is holding.

Derrick Fletcher - OL for Was, NE for a while. Played college ball at Baylor. Was listed at 6' 8", 320 in high school.

Im in Oregon but played against Cade McNown in a playoff game his senior year, he was a cali player who moved up here for that year only.

Basketball, against NFL qb Tommy Maddox. Six-five point guard.

To this day I've never seen a better pure shooter at the high school level. With no hyperbole at all... I have seen him square up and shoot from 25+ feet like it was a free throw, and be jogging towards half court when the ball went through the hoop.

Played with Montae Reagor of the Colts and Brian Waters of the Chiefs.

I played tennis with Warrick Holdman. Even with a slow swing, he had a hard time keeping the ball in bounds... He didn't put a lot of topspin on the ball. The sad thing is that I wasn't sure who he was at the time, but I was thinking that if this guy isn't on the football team, then he should be.

Just go play in the Baytown-Beaumont area. Played with Rocky Bernard. Went up against Sammy Davis when he was at Humble. One of those big honkin' D-Tackles for Texas was at La Porte when I played. Casey Hampton maybe? Got shook by Chip Ambres when he was QBing for Beaumont West Brook, if that counts.

No, but I used to "know" (biblical sense) McCown's girlfriend. Does that count?

Flemmons was my weight-lifting partner for a summer in high school.

Funny story about Grigsby; (I didn't know he played pro, but I do distinctly remember him playing for kentucky when i watched that game they lost to LSU on the last play)

When I was a junior, we went to Judson and knocked them off and it was a huge deal.

That apparently stuck in that dude's craw a bit, because when we came out there the next year, he played like his hair was on fire.

I was a becnhwarmer on the o-line, but we were looking for a good combination of linemen after someone broke Mike Fanuzzi's collarbone. So I played most of the second half. Long story short, we lose by 2 touchdowns.

So i get up the next morning to go to film, and as I'm leaving, i here this voice on the TV. It was Don Nelson on KMOL (now WOAI).

"Our hit of the week comes courtesy of Judson's Otis Grigsby..."

They segue into a shot of him blowing past my slow ass and de-cleating our backup QB, Adam Walker. I run into the shot like 2 seconds later looking all frustrated.

Probably the highlight of my high school career, next to the time I caught that blocked punt and advanced it about 20 yards before fumbling.

My sophomore year in high school we played against Roy Williams, Cedric Benson, Tommy Harris, Tatum Bell, and BJ Johnson. I was on JV then, but that lineup was too good to pass up. I did play against Cedric the next year.

Played against Robert Ferguson. The guy scored five TDs against us in one game, and each in a different way:

One rushing
One receiving
One INT return
One Fumble return
One Punt return

It was friggin ridiculous. Man we sucked.

with- Chris Taylor, and hopefully David Underwood (he will need a good pro-day workout, but I bet he will be an undrafted FA). Kevin Ford who played Saftey at Rice but left after RS Fresh(?)year, got a tryout at LB for the Texans, but I guess that didn't pan out.

if Matt Tressel (UT's FB a couple years ago) ever signed with a team, him too.
