Its one of my life goals to be able to afford a suite every year for Aggie games. How much would I have to cough up to get one?

For one of the small suites in the Zone, you're looking at roughly 36K per year. You've got to pony up the donation on 12 seats (roughly $2,500 per) and then buy tickets on top of that (roughly $500 per).

Then you get to pay exhorbitant prices for so-so food and alcohol...but it is nice.

I heard about $75,000 would get it done back in 2002 or so.

dlp-

That sounds about right for a double suite, which I assume requires a 24 ticket commitment.

The interesting thing is that the donation and ticket prices for the suites, when broken down per seat, is roughly the same as that for the regular Zone Club seats downstairs. The kicker is you have to commit and pay in one big chunk...and wait your turn for an opening, of course.

Back when Mr. Byrne said he was going to open the books for everyone, I emailed the question of how much the suites and luxury boxes currently cost. He never replied to my email or addressed my question in his Wednesday installment. I then emailed the question to the TMF and was referred to Reba Ragsdale for the information. I got busy and never followed through, but she would be the one to give you the actual figures, apparently.

I have a friend that is a waitor in the boxes. He says he'll get individual tips around $100. So if you have that kinda money to pass out as tips, you can probably afford a box.

If you have to ask it's too much.

My thoughts exactly.

Q: I want to get a box seat, how much are they?
A: We have arm-chair seats in the Zone.

or

Q: I love Aggie football. Can I buy the team another building complex for their use?
A: Are you interested in Box seats?

To each his own, but I think the suites in the Zone stink. I have been there for two games and it is like watching football in a fish bowl.

You can't see very well, you can't hear anything outside, and most people are just in the way and not paying attention to the game.

I will take my 3rd deck 50 yard line seats any day over a suite in the Zone.

Agree 12thMan ... I have been in the suites and they have no atmosphere of game day ... You can't here the crowd and you do not feel involved ... I will take the seats outside ...

As a comparison - my company has a suite at DKR in Austin. The suite is about 650 sq. ft, seats 20, has a private bathroom, and has power windows to allow the air and noise into the suite. The food is expensive and mediocre - but the suites are a very, very nice way to watch football - with the windows open. The cost varies by location - I believe we pay more than $40K per year plus cost of tickets with a minimum 3 yr commitment. Unfortunately - it's at DKR and I usually can't celebrate when tu screws up because of the tu fans in the suite.
