Anyone know how to get your class ring re-sized?
And let me beat you to the punch. I've already tried the low carb diet...

Best way is to let the Ring Clerk at the Former Students building handle it. As I understand any jeweler can "stretch" it one size but if more than one size larger the ring must be spliced. Older rings had the name inscribed in the thin section of the ring so resizing messed the inscription up....if it is done by Balfour they will resize larger then reinscribe name on the thick part of the ring.

Call Balfour. They resized my ring several years ago. Simply sent the ring to them insured and they sent it back.

All done free of charge.

i had the same prob...my ring came in this year, and it just didnt feel right. i tried to tough it out to see if i just wasnt used to wearing a ring, but then gave up and decided to see what i could do about it...so i called up the association. all you have to do is take it back to the ring office (2nd story) and tell them yo uwant it resized....problem with mine was they actually sent me a half size too small! i was able ot get it done for free since it was their fault, but im not sure what the running rate is. anyways, took me 2 weeks exactly to get mine back. said it would be up to 6 if it hadnt been their fault. anyways, good luck with it

Don't take it to a jewelry store. They can do it but a friend of my did it and they screwed it up. Send it back to balfour, it takes longer but its worth it.

DO NOT let a jeweler resize your ring. A friend of mine had his stretched and the metal by the tu a holes is soooo thin. I had mine increased one size by Balfour and it is perfect.

The reason why the Balfour ring resizing is "perfect" is that more often than not you don't get your original ring back!

Another vote for NOT taking it to a jeweler. My dad did and they SCREWED it up. Took the little a-holes off the back and did some kind of scaling instead. BAD.

I took mine to Lee Michaels Jewelers. Great job, but expensive.

Friend of ours had hers resized and magically all the dings and whatnot she had accumulated were healed. I don't know if this is how it's always done, but I suspect they just give you a new ring and melt yours down. That may bug the nostalgic or it may not matter a whit. Just be aware.

You get your ring back from Balfour. Trust me. Depending on the number of sizes up or down they might have to redo some of the holes on the bottom. I had mine resized and the exact same one came back. Same dings on the front and everything.

If you don't go to Balfour, you also void the Warranty.
