When dudes my dad's age start to use terms like "crunk", they officially join the graveyard of phrases like:

"chill out"
"pimped out"
"fly"
"gettin' jiggy"
"fresh"
etc, etc...ya feel me? (stolen phrase also)

So Ag players, I'm afraid you may have to create a new phrase because, once again, your once sacred lingo has permeated to levels of middle aged white guys...I apologize on behalf of the awkward, uncoordinated contingent of goofy dudes across this land.

Any excuse is good to get rid of possibly the dumbest word ever invented in any language...

I'd like to encourage all middle aged white guys to start using this on a daily basis to help speed up the process.

Crunk has been old since like 1997. I remember Kwame Cavil ( *cough* - another Ricky fan) used to say it in high school.

I lost touch with him after his rookie season.

crunk means high energy.

It is a term from hip-hop.

And yes, it does need to be eliminated.

Your friend probably just said crunk using bad English way back then, lol.

We used it in our locker room before games (1997) to get excited. We would sort of rap or sing, "Everybody get crunk, and dunk,...!!" My friend (Kwame) was the instigator.

So, I am afraid Lil Jon is simply the person who made it "global". It has been used in the same context for many years. Anything else?

I don't know how much truth there is to this, but a co-worker of mine that went to a heavily minority populated high school, and played on the football teams there, told me that the word CRUNK was a combination of the word CRONIC and DRUNK.

I'm a middle-aged white guy from Georgia, and thirty years ago, rednecks there used the word as the past tense of "crank".
As in "I got in my truck and crunk it up."
See: it isn't all that new, but maybe it did come from Georgia.

onearmyag's right about Conan O'Brien. Years ago he decided to create a new swear word that he could say all he wanted on his show without it getting bleeped. That word, ladies and gentlemen, was 'krunk'.

krunk's right up there with bootleg. it was old when i was in 8th grade. i'll tell you when it really needs to die is when it makes it into the dictionary i.e. bling-bling<--webster's added last year

but, japhus is still pretty sweet. gotta love having a guy who oozes confidence. as much as it bugs some people, that confidence is what shows up in championship teams.

When I was a pisshead, one of my fish used the word crunk while explaining to an upper classman what he thought of his first yell practice...that was back in '96. First time I had ever heard the word.
